Tips for choosing a major

The College of Arts and Sciences, recognizing that many freshmen do not know what they want to major in, offers a support program for these students. Students who have not yet decided on a major are referred to as undeclared students. Professional advisors in the college work closely with undeclared students to help them focus on choosing an appropriate major.

Once a undeclared student decides upon, and is admitted to, a major, s/he is advised by a faculty advisor in that major program. Normally, undeclared students choose a major by the end of their freshman year.
